Hello beautiful people. It's a steamy hot July day in the valley. Alex and I visited the Appalachian Vibes Festival grounds at Mountain Valley Brewing in Axton, VA. Lemme just say, it's going to be incredible. The property is beautiful, the beer…is amazing, talented vendors, fire dancers, kids stuff, late night disco….3 days of local/regional bands, camping…just an incredible time around really good, talented folks.

This week I featured Charlottesville's Dara James, Franklin Co VA native, Jojo Stockton and the dynamic Appalachian inspired folk band from Chicago, by way of JMU in Harrisonburg VA, Palmyra.

Dara James – performed original songs: ” Made Up Mind”, “February 7”, “The Myth”, His upcoming EP is called Her Light, dedicated to his daughter in her memory.

My second guest is the hardest working musician I know. He brings so many people together with an open warm heart. If you come through the SW VA region, you gotta meet Jojo Stockton; especially if you're a player. He is known for  bringing in and nurturing new, upcoming musicians.

Jojo stopped by the studio to share a 6 month update on how things are unfolding for him after the pandemic subsided, at least somewhat it seems.

He has a new EP called Dreaming coming out soon. Find him on FB…that's the best spot he has to connect with folks. The songs he shared with us were, “Dreaming” “One of These Days”

My last guest is Palmyra, They're a string acoustic band with infectious melodies and thoughtful lyrics. I spoke with Willis Landon, the mandolin player and one of the songwriters/singers for the band.

Their songs by name in order of performance: “Medicine Master” “Mount Whitney” “Microwave Dinner”

They're touring the SW VA region soon, so be sure to get your tickets. You don't want to miss out on Palmyra. Check out their schedule: https://www.palmyratheband.com

Just to let everyone know, I've been sick this week….so my voice is a little ragged. Thanks for bearing with me.

Have a beautiful week. Hope to see you and meet you at the Appalachian Vibes Music Festival.
